Volunteering for Legacy’s Career Day was definitely a fulfilling experience. Students had the opportunity to listen to the motivational life story of Cesar Cruz, who is a PhD candidate and researcher at Harvard. Students were also able to listen to the stories of other professionals from all sorts of career avenues, including a dancer, park ranger, meditation teacher and fire fighters. During the second part of the afternoon attendees had the opportunity to ask detailed questions about the individual’s career pathway. Every attendee was excited to be present and the rooms were filled with positive energy all around. I appreciated the passion that each professional displayed and how eager they were to help the students out in any way to achieve their goals. I feel like not only the students, but everyone walked out that night feeling that we could do anything we wanted in our life.
